One-Card Tarot Spread: A Clear Question, One Useful Prompt
A one-card spread is not a shortcut to certainty. It works when the question is narrow enough for one symbol to illuminate a present choice.
Keep the question small
Use one card for a decision you are already considering, a mood you want to name, or a quality you want to practice. “What should I pay attention to in today’s conversation?” gives the card a job; “tell me my future” does not.
Read before you draw again
Look at the image, the card’s usual range of meanings, and the question. Write one interpretation and one action. If the first answer feels uncomfortable, do not redraw immediately; ask what makes it difficult to hear.
Give the reading an exit point
A stopping rule keeps a one-card practice from becoming a loop in which uncertainty simply produces more cards.
