Choose a spread that fits the question

A spread gives each card a job. Begin with one or three positions until you can connect position, image, and question without forcing an answer, then add complexity only when the extra positions help you see something you would otherwise miss.

One-card guidanceUseful for a daily check-in or one clear point of attention, especially when you want to notice your response before turning a small concern into a larger story. Keep the question small.
Three-card timelineOften past, present, and possible direction. It can also become situation, friction, and response.
Two-choice spreadCompare two defined paths. Tarot can clarify the trade-offs; it should not take responsibility for the choice.
Four-element spreadLook at action, feeling, communication, and practical conditions together when a situation feels tangled.
Celtic CrossFor a layered question. It can show the present, resistance, history, near direction, environment, and a likely development.
